The Service Fitters Industry Promotional Fund is
proud to sponsor a scholarship awards program. Its
purpose is to recognize scholastic achievement by
making funds for higher education available to the
children of Metal Trades Branch Local 638 personnel
and the children of full-time salaried personnel of
contributing contractors. A total of six $2,500 awards
will be made to high school graduating students or
post secondary school students planning to continue
education in an accredited college, technical or vocational
school.
Qualifications
To qualify for the competition, the applicant must
complete the registration form and return it with
an official copy of their latest school transcript
and either:

Be a son or daughter whose parent
is both a member in good standing in Metal Trades
Branch Local 638 and is employed by a contributing
contractor to the Service Fitters Industry Promotional
Fund. |
| 2. |
Be a son or daughter of a full-time
salaried employee of a contributing contractor
to the Service Fitters Industry Promotional Fund.
Please note that children of company principals
or major stockholders are not eligible for scholarships. |
Awards Criteria
The scholarships will be awarded based on an evaluation
of applicant's latest school transcript, rank-in-class,
SAT scores, written expression and extracurricular
activities.
How to Apply
Complete and return the application together with
a photograph of yourself (for newsletter purposes
only), an official copy of your latest transcript,
and a copy of the College Board's "Candidate
Report Form" which lists your SAT scores to:
